EDI Champions Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Africa Skills Week 2025

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) concluded its participation in the second annual Africa Skills Week (ASW) 2025.

The event was hosted at the African Union Commission (AUC) Headquarters under the theme, "Powering Africa’s Industrial Future: Skills for Innovation, Growth, and Sustainability."

Jointly organized by the AUC and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Labor and Skills (MoLS), this week-long continental event mobilized policymakers, industry leaders, and development partners. It proved to be an essential platform for EDI to champion its core message: that entrepreneurship and innovation are the critical solutions for Africa’s economic resilience and industrial competitiveness.

EDI's presence was prominently featured in the various sessions and the Skills Development Marketplace and Exhibition—a key activity designed to showcase institutions and innovations driving skills transformation across the continent.

At the EDI booth, attendees, including high-level representatives and emerging entrepreneurs, engaged in dynamic discussions centered on how a robust and mature entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem offers solutions for the continent's challenges.

Visitors to the EDI booth, ranging from youth networks to representatives from the private and public sectors, were shown concrete examples of how embracing an entrepreneurial mindset and enhancing innovation ecosystems directly address the continent’s skills gaps and industrial challenges.
