What Does a Journey of Transformation and Self-reliance in TVT Look Like? Burayu Polytechnic Shows Us.

Burayu Polytechnic College in the outskirts of Addis Ababa, is transforming itself through education and entrepreneurship. The college made a turning point through the public entrepreneurship training and other supports by the EDI-led SEED program in collaboration with the Mastercard foundation and the support of the municipality. Within two years of being a polytechnic college in its 45 years of history, the college was able to:,

• Reach 90%+ Graduate employment rate

• Launch 10 ventures (poultry to auto cleaning)

• Establish 6 micro-enterprises (62 members)

• Create 46 jobs

• Generate 5 Million Birr

• Partner with overseas institutions

• Become an invaluable resource for other TVTs
