CoBuild Ethiopia AI Hackathon 2025 Kicks Off

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), in collaboration with Addis AI, Efuye Gela, and Reach for Change, has officially launched the CoBuild Ethiopia AI Hackathon 2025 as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW 2025) in Addis Ababa on November 20, 2025.

The hybrid event, featuring both in-person and online participants, brings together  innovators across 18 teams to develop AI-driven solutions addressing local challenges in public services, education, civic engagement, and business innovation.

Participants will benefit from hands-on training, expert mentorship during hackathon.

Top 3 winners will get post hackathon startup support including Free co-working space access at PSI Lab by EDI, recognition and Technical mentorship and support from Addis AI  and Efuye Gela , Mentorship, internship pathways, and Free learning options through Carnegie Mellon University courses by Reach for Change.

Top 5 participants will be benefited from EDI Alumni Opportunities, Certificate of  Recognition and Social Media Spotlight. 

The hackathon underscores the power of locally-rooted, purpose-built AI solutions to deliver meaningful impact for Ethiopia and strengthen the nation’s innovation ecosystem,culminating in a Final Pitch Day on November 27, 2025, at Sheraton Addis Hotel.
