The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) successfully concluded a transformative five-day executive masterclass designed to enhance an entrepreneurial, innovative, and forward-thinking mindset in Ethiopia's culture and sport sectors. Held from November 28 to December 2, 2025, in Bishoftu, the specialized Public Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Building and Future Thinking Workshop gathered the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and Sport (MoCS) for intensive strategic training.
This crucial intervention is poised to accelerate sectoral transformation. The MoCS leaders were equipped with strategic foresight tools, strengthening their capacity for public innovation, evidence-based policymaking, and, ultimately, enhancing a resilient national entrepreneurship ecosystem. The program's core modules—Public Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Future Thinking, and Systems Thinking—were designed to refine high-level skills in complex problem-solving and policy design vital for national development and a future-ready sector.
H.E. Minister Shewit Shanka stressed the significance of the executive workshop, noting it will enable the Ministry to "accelerate our work and approach our responsibilities in more innovative and creative ways."
EDI CEO Hassen Hussien (PhD) affirmed that this masterclass is a key component of EDI's broader national mandate, which is actively spanning multiple government and educational sectors. This significant effort solidifies EDI’s mission to enhance strategic thinking and foster transformative leadership across all of Ethiopia's sectors, marking a vital step toward an innovation-driven future.
