EDI Equips Urban and Infrastructure Leaders with Public Entrepreneurship and Future Thinking Training

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) is proud to announce the successful conclusion of a transformative executive masterclass designed to cultivate a forward-looking leadership mindset within a critical national sector.

From October 9–11, 2025, EDI delivered its powerful Public Entrepreneurship and Futures Thinking Workshop (PEFTW) to the leadership of the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure (MUI) in Bishoftu. This high-level training marks a step towards embedding innovation and strategic foresight at the nation's urban and infrastructural development agenda.

The three-day masterclass was designed to cultivate an entrepreneurial, innovative, and deeply future-thinking mindset among the leaders. It focused on equipping MUI leaders with practical methodologies and strategic foresight tools essential for navigating complex challenges and capitalizing on emerging opportunities. By enhancing public entrepreneurship, the workshop aims to unlock greater creativity and efficiency in the sector.

This specialized training is considered vital for accelerating the ongoing transformation of the urban and infrastructure sector. Leaders were equipped with skills specifically intended to strengthen their capacity across several key areas: enhancing public innovation, improving evidence-based policymaking, and ultimately, ensuring their efforts contribute to a robust and resilient national entrepreneurship ecosystem.
