The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cross-border collaboration in entrepreneurship. The agreement was finalized with the Institut Supérieur de Statistique de Kinshasa (ISS-KIN), a higher institution operating under the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Ministry of University Education, and UK-based Menelik Education, an organization dedicated to educational and development work across the DRC and other African nations. The signing ceremony took place in Addis Ababa on October 6, 2025.
This tripartite alliance is poised to inject new vitality into the African entrepreneurship ecosystem by enhancing innovation and driving skills development across both Ethiopia and the DRC. The partnership leverages the unique strengths of each institution to create a synergistic framework for growth and regional economic integration.
The core focus of this collaboration is multifaceted: empowering young individuals and women entrepreneurs, establishing vital incubation hubs to support new ventures, and strengthening cross-border cooperation for sustainable growth. By pooling resources and expertise, EDI and its partners aim to scale proven models and further their shared goal of supporting seamless regional integration across the continent.
Collectively, the partners will work to enhance the quality and reach of entrepreneurship education and expand the provision of business development services. This concerted effort will accelerate the collective mission of the signatory organizations to cultivate a truly dynamic and resilient African entrepreneurship ecosystem that creates jobs and drives continental prosperity.
